Warehouse Operative / Driver


JOB DESCRIPTION
Testometric is a private limited company that has been involved in the design and manufacture of testing machines and quality control equipment since its foundation in 1970.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Operative / Driver to join our team and assist with the smooth running of our factory goods in/out operations. Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial, a flexible attitude and a willingness to learn new skills is essential.
Location – This role will be based primarily at our factory in Rochdale with regular deliveries/collections in the local Greater Manchester area. Longer distance deliveries (within UK) may occasionally be required on an infrequent basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspection of incoming deliveries to ensure items and quantities are correct and booking in via our in-house ERP / Stock Management system.
- Packing of outgoing orders, taking care to ensure items are correct and well protected for transit.
- Ensure accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Prepare testing machines (wrap and protect) ready for despatch for export packing.
- Delivery/collection of goods within Greater Manchester area (van provided).
- Load and unload goods from lorries/vans, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Perform manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting as required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Computer literate, with a good level of competence with Microsoft Office applications.
- Attention to detail and ability to interpret standards, drawings and technical documentation.
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Familiarity with strength testing machines or similar equipment would be beneficial.
- Full UK driving license.
